[AO discussion] ug text recommendation

Dear Shafer,

There is also a new book by Jeoff Vallis, which I can recommend. But it might perhaps be at a too high level.

Concerning rotating tank experiments, I assume that you aim at illustrating the effect of rotation. Then I must overcome my natural modesty and recommend a series of popular articles by me in Roy Met Soc's WEATHER 2000-2001, the one about Taylor columns being my favourite. I think it appear in early 2001.

Regards
